Observe from a safe distance

Wasps may nest on buildings, in trees, in the ground, or inside concealed spaces. Repeated flight to one opening can indicate a nest nearby, even if the nest itself is not visible.

Note the location and activity without approaching, swatting, sealing the opening, or disturbing the area. Keep children and pets away.

Why hidden nests need extra care

A nest in a wall or other enclosed space is harder to assess from outside. Blocking an entrance can leave insects with another route into the building and does not safely resolve the source.

Requesting help

Include where you see the insects, how often they return, and whether the opening is near a door, walkway, or occupied area. Our form includes wasps and other stinging insects as a concern; we can review your request and confirm availability.

If someone has trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or another severe allergic reaction after a sting, seek emergency medical help immediately.
